Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

Specialized care and facilities, including a fully equipped gym with an indoor walking track, are available for those who have experienced a cardiac event.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is available daily for Catholic patients.  Ask your nurse or dial “0” for the operator to contact the Pastoral Care Chaplain on call.

Mail and Flower Delivery

Mail and flowers will be delivered to your room by a volunteer.

Movies and Players

Movies and players are available for your in-room viewing pleasure.  Call Volunteer Services at ext. 9685 for a list of titles currently available.

Nutrition Services

Registered Dietitians provide inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling.  If you would like more information on this service, click here or please call 563-589-9655.

Patient Rooms

Your room assignment at Mercy Medical Center is based on your admitting diagnosis and the bed availability on the day of your admission.  Private (single bed) and semi-private (two-bed) rooms are available.

Pharmacy: Inpatient Consultation

While you are an inpatient, you may call ext. 9030 to consult with one of Mercy’s inpatient pharmacists to help you understand the medicine your doctor has prescribed.  After your discharge, please see your personal outpatient pharmacist.

Smoking

Mercy Medical Center has a campus-wide tobacco-free policy that requires all employees, patients, physicians, volunteers, contractors, and visitors to refrain from the use of tobacco products in our buildings, vehicles, walkways, and parking lots.  This policy covers all grounds and facilities, owned or leased, and hospital and personal vehicles parked on hospital property.
